Hugh Hewitt:Suspend and Amend the TSA Procedures

Posted by: Hugh Hewitt at 8:54 AM

This is President Obama’s call, and the wildly unpopular and obviously unnecessary assaults on the public have had only the excellent side-effects of two memorable columns from Charles Krauthammer and George Will.

Despite our affection for fine writing, this is not compensation enough, however, and the deep anger growing within the traveling public will soon connect the dots to the hapless president and make another note in the ledger marked “rules for one-term presidencies,” specifically, “Institute aggressive and intrusive physical assaults on the traveling public.”

This is not a hard call, but neither have other big mistakes by the president represented hard calls.  His toxic combination of ideology, arrogance and incompetence makes even the easy ones hard, and the hard ones nearly impossible.

The president may be stubborn enough or thin-skinned enough to refuse to change this absurd regime, but the rebellion against these rules is widespread and growing

A free people will not be groped while terrorist killers are acquitted on all but a single count in NYC.
